BC Bioenergy Sector Awards: October 20, 2021

2021 is the inaugural year of the BC Bioenergy Sector Awards, hosted by the BC Bioenergy Network on October 20, 2021 (National Bioenergy Day). These awards recognize leaders who have made meaningful contributions to advance bioenergy research, policy, innovation, or sector building in British Columbia.

Award Categories: 

  1. Researcher (Academia)
  2. Champion (Government/Non-Profit)
  3. Changemaker (Industry/Entrepreneur)

Award Criteria: 

  1. What was the nominee’s personal contribution?
  2. What was the impact on the bioenergy sector?

Timeline: 

Deadline for nominations: September 15, 2021

Winners notified: September 30, 2021

Date of awards event: October 20, 2021 (online)

FAQ: 

Are self-nominations accepted?

No, all nominees need to be nominated by a third party.

Is it possible to nominate someone in more than one category?

No, the questions are the same for each category so the category needs to be clearly defined.

How does judging work?

Judging will be based on the responses on the nomination form, but judges reserve the right to validate and quantify impact.

Is the awards event virtual or in-person?

The event will be held virtually via Zoom.

Why are winners notified so early?

Winner will be asked to give a short presentation so we have allotted them time to prepare.
